Psychobotanic Installation No. 1 utilises the inherent electrical connections and resistive properties of plants and their ability to interact and adapt to their environment to create an interactive and inspiring visual and sonic environment. Visitors were invited to interact with the installation directly, enabling them to create different creative audio and visual scenarios. Psychobotanic Installation No. 1 aims to raise questions, and an awareness, about the consciousness and interactive potentials of plant life, a theme continually explored within popular science fiction from The Day Of the Triffids to Avatar and the subject of left-field scientific research.
